This kit includes the following parts:
- aluminum cable quadrant
- firewall adjuster w/ locking ring
- plastic spacer
Instructions:
1. Remove clutch cable from firewall and car.
2. (Reference picture #1 below) Remove both retaining clips and plastic pieces from pedal assy.
(note: pictures are taken with pedal assembly removed from vehicle, removing
pedal assembly is not necessary) The smaller of the two pieces (the pawl) is
usually the easiest removed when having a second person holding the pedal in
correct position while the first person pries the pawl from assembly through
the firewall where the cable goes through using large screwdriver or a small
pry bar. You may end up breaking the plastic pawl, but that is ok. Discard
all old plastic pieces including large spring.
3. (Reference picture #2 below) Note your pedal assembly should look like this at this point.
Install white plastic spacer on the shaft closest to the driver's seat (reference picture #3 below).

spacer and install (1) retaining clip. Note: make sure the quadrant hooks
are facing forward.

5. (Reference picture #6 below) 86-93 remove rubber grommet from cable and file tabs according to

6. Insert cable through fire wall with adjuster completely threaded in
toward firewall. Then hook cable on the quadrant like picture #4 (above). After hooked
on quadrant then install cable to clutch fork.
7. Adjust cable by pulling on cable housing from fire wall and adjust the
adjuster till there is approximately 1/4" clearance from cable body flange
to adjuster. This seems to be the correct clearance for most Mustangs.
